Johanna G. Posada, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Elevar Equity (www.elevarequity.com)
Johanna is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Elevar Equity, a leading global growth equity investor. With over $165 million in assets under management across three funds, Elevar has invested in 24 companies in India and Latin America, and across sectors including microfinance, financial services, education, housing and healthcare. Johanna has +17 years of emerging markets investing, corporate finance, economics, and microfinance experience and has long been involved in economic development. She currently serves as a Director of Afluenta (Argentina), Union Andina (Spain/US), Finae (Mexico), Financiera TFC (Peru) and as an observer to GloboKasNet (Peru). She also sits on the Board of the non-profit NESsT. She previously served as a Director of Caja Rural Los Andes (Peru) and Credex (Mexico). Johanna began her career as an Economist with the Central Bank of Mexico, where she focused on the creation of institutional frameworks to increase the efficiency, transparency and inclusiveness of the Mexican financial sector, and later worked as a Senior Financial Specialist at ExxonMobil’s Exploration Company. Prior to founding Elevar, she formed part of the Capital Markets team at Unitus Inc., where she worked to raise the Unitus Equity Fund, as well as on debt financing structures for several microfinance companies around the globe. She has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a degree in Economics from the ITAM (Mexico).
